South Australian road network

The department manages nearly 23 000 kilometres of South Australia’s road network.

This represents almost 25 per cent of the state’s total road network. The arterial road network carries a large percentage of all traffic movement within the state, including most heavy freight vehicles, and represents one of the state’s largest physical assets with a replacement value in excess of $6 billion.
