KEY FACTS:
  • 428 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2008, compared with 454 during 2007.


  • 103 people have been seriously injured in APRIL 2008.


  • 57 serious injuries were males and 46 were females.


  • 68 were vehicle occupants, 19 were motorcycle riders, 11 were pedestrians and 5 were cyclists.


  • In APRIL 2008, there were 45 serious injuries in the country and 58 in Adelaide.


  • Of the 90 serious injury crashes in APRIL 2008, 50 involved a single vehicle and 40 involved more than one vehicle.

  • 79 crashes involved a single serious injury and 11 involved multiple serious injuries.
