KEY FACTS:
  • 554 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2008, compared with 560 during 2007.


  • 126 people have been seriously injured in MAY 2008.


  • 81 serious injuries were males and 45 were females.


  • 78 were vehicle occupants, 24 were motorcycle riders, 15 were pedestrians and 9 were cyclists.


  • In MAY 2008, there were 57 serious injuries in the country and 69 in Adelaide.


  • Of the 105 serious injury crashes in MAY 2008, 60 involved a single vehicle and 45 involved more than one vehicle.

  • 93 crashes involved a single serious injury and 12 involved multiple serious injuries.
