KEY FACTS:
  • 818 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2008, compared with 892 during 2007.


  • 108 people have been seriously injured in AUGUST 2008.


  • 68 serious injuries were males and 40 were females.


  • 81 were vehicle occupants, 13 were motorcycle riders, 10 were pedestrians, 3 were cyclists and 1 was a .


  • In AUGUST 2008, there were 45 serious injuries in the country and 63 in Adelaide.


  • Of the 86 serious injury crashes in AUGUST 2008, 41 involved a single vehicle and 45 involved more than one vehicle.

  • 76 crashes involved a single serious injury and 10 involved multiple serious injuries.
