ROAD CRASH SERIOUS INJURIES IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

KEY FACTS:

1003 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2007, compared with 1019 during 2006.

113 people have been seriously injured in SEPTEMBER 2007.

80 serious injuries were males and 33 were females.

89 were vehicle occupants, 12 were motorcycle riders, 9 were pedestrians and 3 were cyclists.

In SEPTEMBER 2007, there were 67 serious injuries in the country and 46 in Adelaide.

Of the 92 serious injury crashes in SEPTEMBER 2007, 61 involved a single vehicle and 31 involved more than one vehicle.
75 crashes involved a single serious injury and 17 involved multiple serious injuries.
