KEY FACTS:
  • 1003 people have been seriously injured on South Australian roads during 2007, compared with 1019 during 2006.


  • 113 people have been seriously injured in SEPTEMBER 2007.


  • 80 serious injuries were males and 33 were females.


  • 89 were vehicle occupants, 12 were motorcycle riders, 9 were pedestrians and 3 were cyclists.


  • In SEPTEMBER 2007, there were 67 serious injuries in the country and 46 in Adelaide.


  • Of the 92 serious injury crashes in SEPTEMBER 2007, 61 involved a single vehicle and 31 involved more than one vehicle.

  • 75 crashes involved a single serious injury and 17 involved multiple serious injuries.
