Driver Intervention Program

Who must attend the program?

Any person whose Learners permit or Provisional licence is disqualified must attend the Driver Intervention Program (DIP).

What does the program consist of?

The Driver Intervention Program consists of a 90 minute interactive workshop.

Participants take part in small group discussions of

  • relationship between youth and crash involvement
  • lifestyle issues which relate to high levels of young driver crash involvement eg
    • alcohol
    • drug abuse
    • low self esteem
    • peer group pressure.
  • reality and consequences of crashes.

Workshops are facilitated by persons disabled through road crashes, and persons involved in road safety and road trauma.

Booking into the program or changing the attendance date

Invited participants must make a booking to attend the Driver Intervention Program within 6 months.
