South Australia -Gulf St Vincent-Port Adelaide River-Birkenhead Bridge

Transport SA advises that the Birkenhead Bridge will be closed to Vehicular, Marine Pedestrian traffic at various intervals for major upgrading work as indicated below:

Date:- Monday 24 June from 0700 to 1900 on Sunday 30 June 2002 Marine traffic will be restricted in the navigation channel but bridge bascule spans will not be able to be opened. Please contact the Bridge Tel (08) 8447 5015 after 0700 on Saturday 29 June to check if opening of the Bascule Spans is available.

Monday 24 June to Thursday 27 June 2002 daily from 0900 to 1600 hrs lane closures for vehicular traffic will be in place for the replacement of road tiles to the Bascule Span.

From 0900 Friday 28 June to 0700 Saturday 29 June 2002 inclusive. Total closure of bridge to all Marine, Vehicular and Pedestrian Traffic.

Detour: Vehicles will be detoured via Causeway Rd, Pedestrians and cycle access will be prohibited throughout this total closure.
