Notice to Mariners No 20 of 2001
South Australia -Gulf of ST. Vincent - Port
Adelaide -North Haven and Port Macdonnell -Mount Gambier -Supply
Dropping Exercises
Mariners are advised that Australian Search and Rescue will be
conducting training exercises on the following dates and times.
1) On Monday the 30th April 2001 between 1000hrs and 1630 hrs.and
on Tuesday the 1st of May 2001
Between 0900hrs and 1600 hrs. three nautical miles south west
of North Haven.
2) On Saturday 19th May 2001 between 1100 hrs. and 1630 hrs.and
Sunday 20th May 2001 between
0900 hrs and 1630 hrs off Port MacDonnell harbour.
The training exercises involve dropping liferafts and other life
saving devices from an aircraft. Pyrotechnics in the form of white
and orange smoke markers will be used throughout the exercises.
A surface vessel be in attendance at all times to recover equipment,
act as communications vessel and oversight general safety in the
area.
Mariners are advised to exercise caution and keep clear off
the above areas during these times.

781.
