Light Vehicles

These pages contain Gazette Notices and Information Guides that relate to the modifications, specifications and exemptions from various regulations affecting Light Vehicles being used on South Australian roads. A Light Vehicle is defined as a vehicle that has a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4.5 tonnes or less.

A Gazette Notice is an exemption granted under the Road Traffic Act. Gazettes allow exemptions and modifications to certain types of Light Vehicles, provided that the terms and conditions of the Notice have been met.

It is your responsibility to make sure that you are operating under a current Gazette Notice.
