Higher Mass Limits vehicles route maps and documents for drivers and operators

Gazette notices provide the legal conditions for operating on roads in South Australia and must be carried in the vehicle.
1. Government Gazette Notice - 30Kb (PDF)
Note that this Gazette notice and route maps are only applicable to the following vehicles and combinations:
- Rigid Trucks fitted with a tandem drive axle group and operated without a trailer.
- Articulated vehicles where the prime mover is fitted with a tandem drive axle group and the semi trailer is fitted with either a tandem or triaxle group.
- Buses fitted with a single drive axle or a six tyred tandem axle group (which includes the drive axle) at the rear.

2. Approved route maps – Higher Mass Limits
Please refer to the RAVnet online mapping system for Higher Mass Limits route maps.
3. Higher Mass Limit Route Compliance Certificate (PDF) *
*Only vehicles or vehicle configurations with triaxle groups operating at higher mass limits are required to carry Higher Mass Limit Route Compliance Certificate.
Operators of Higher Mass Limit Vehicles will no longer need to carry the supplementary Gazette Notices.

If you wish to travel on a route that is not specified in the available Route Maps, or if your operating requirements cannot be met by another Gazette Notice, you will need to apply for a Permit. Information on how to apply for a Permit

Route maps may be updated from time to time as new routes are added, or routes that are no longer available are removed.
