Yes. Motor cycles can have Custom or Personalised number plates, as well as the general issue number plates.

So whether you ride a Honda or a Harley, a BSA or a BMW, there's a number plate just right for your bike. As usual, only one number plate is required - for the back of the bike.

Bike rack number plates

If you have a bicycle rack attached to the back of your car – you'll need a bike rack number plate.

Otherwise your rear number plate may not be easily visible which is illegal.

The bike rack number plate is attached to the top of the bike rack. The number (general issue, Personalised or Custom) is the same as the vehicle and it has black lettering on a white reflective background with the slogan SA BETTER BY BIKE on the bottom of the number plate.

To order a bike rack number plate go to Order a Replacement Plate on the menu. Enter the details of your existing number plate, and then go to the next screen to enter Bike Rack in the drop down menu for Size.
