TravelSmart Access Guides

The TravelSmart Access Guides are designed to reduce our reliance on cars by showing the best way to get around by foot, bicycle or public transport.

These compact guides make it simple to identify how other forms of transport can be incorporated into the daily travel routine.

Walking, cycling or taking public transport is a great way of saving money on travel and parking expenses while also improving fitness and the environment.

Park ‘n’ ride locations, public transport information, secure bicycle lockers, shared use paths, bicycle lanes and walking trails are all marked on the guides making it easier to plan a journey.

Four TravelSmart Access Guides have been produced covering the metropolitan area (these files may take some time to download):

Bikedirect is a network of bicycle routes that has been developed to encourage cycling by providing a variety of options for cyclists with different needs and abilities. The network identifies main roads, bicycle lanes, local streets and off-road paths within the Adelaide metropolitan area.

The TravelSmart Access Guides are available now from council customer service centres and libraries or Service SA customer service centres located at Christies Beach, Elizabeth, Marion, Mitcham, Modbury, Port Adelaide, Prospect, Regency Park and Tranmere.

For further information about the guides please call (08) 8226 8222.
