Air Quality & Greenhouse

Emissions from transport contribute greenhouse gases towards the global enhanced greenhouse effect. Emissions also affect regional and local air quality with consequent effects on human health and visibility. Emissions can also damage vegetation and buildings.

One of Transport SA’s key priorities is to enhance our capacity to reduce emissions from the transport system. While Adelaide enjoys arguably the best air quality of Australia’s capital cities, our challenge is to maintain or improve the quality of our air as the population grows. Air quality is a major community concern.
